Troy Slocum is a sound designer and electronic music composer.

Recently, he was the sound designer & composer for the Shaw Festival’s production of Blithe Spirit, as well as Music Supervisor and Sound Designer for the new CBC Gem series, The Bannocking, by Damien Eagle Bear.  He also contributed sound design & original music for the audio play, Black Fly, by Amy Lee Lavoie & Omari Newton featuring legendary Toronto rapper Dan-e-o.

Troy has created the original music and/or sound design for over 50 theatrical productions and numerous films over the course of his career. Highlights include The Lamentable Tragedy of Sal Capone (NAC), The Rez Sisters (Belfry), and Buried Child (NAC/Segal Centre).

Select film/TV credits include sound design and original music for Looking at Edward Curtis (Knowledge Network) and MIA (Salmon) (TIFF, VIFF), and sound design for documentary features The Road Forward, That Higher Level, True North - The Rise of Toronto Basketball (NFB), and Grey Roads (HOTDOCS 2021). 

Troy’s work had been recognized with nominations for the Soirée Des Masques Award and several Mecca and META Awards.  He was also the recipient of the Jessie Richardson Theatre Award for his work onThe Pipeline Project (ITSAZOO/SavageSociety Theatre).
